An outpouring of grief by the families and friends of two Ulladulla boys killed in the 2002 Bali Bombings resulted in the establishment of the Dunn and Lewis Youth Development Foundation.

The construction of the Dunn Lewis Entertainment Centre was funded via the generous and ongoing support of local business and community groups as well as State and Federal Government Grants. Stage 1 opened in September 2010 and included the Tenpin Bowling Alley and meeting rooms. The Centre is community owned and provides youth with access to services and new opportunities to live their best lives.

Since 2005 the Dunn Lewis Centre has offered youth programs, education programs and vocational training to hundreds of local youth. Stage 2 of the Foundation’s vision is coming to fruition. The project includes a 1500-seat auditorium, climbing wall, gymnastics pit and sports courts. Work on Stage 2 commenced in 2014 and the Auditorium will open in 2020.

The Auditorium will increase patronage and facilitate corporate use of the Centre. Income generated from the auditorium will be channelled back to the Dunn Lewis Foundation’s youth development programs to ensure the Foundation continues to provide local youth with life-changing skills. Since commencement, the Dunn Lewis Foundation has funded between $90,000 to $130,00 per year in pro-bono contributions. The 2019 pro-bono contribution to the community will be $170,000. Income from the Tenpin Bowling and Auditorium are channelled into providing youth programs and employment training for local youth.
